Being an entrepreneur is hard enough… but what about being a female entrepreneur? Even today, while nearly half of small businesses are started by women, women still face many challenges in securing the investments needed to make their businesses successful. To help support other female entrepreneurs, Cake Bites is proud to participate in Women Owned Business Day on May 1.
Our Story
The idea for Cake Bites originated when Deanne, owner of Cake Bites, sent her mom a Mother’s Day present of cake balls. The cake balls were such a hit that soon Deanne was baking up cake balls for all her family and friends… and their friends too!
With this success, Deanne took the courageous leap from grade school teacher to small business owner and Cake Bites officially opened its storefront in June 2012. Since then, Cake Bites continues to grow and is now shipping cake balls all over the country! In addition, Cake Bites wedding cakes have become popular among Dallas area brides and Cake Bites is booked nearly every weekend this summer.
Cake Bites is proud to be a female run operation! All four employees are talented ladies who work alongside Deanne to make sure everything runs smoothly. To celebrate our employees, we’ll be posting a Q&A with each lady this month on our blog! Keep an eye out to learn more about the ladies of Cake Bites.
